Card payments alongside DEFT

Keep card payments flowing.

From 1 October 2026, DEFT no longer accepts credit and debit card payments. ZenPay gives your customers a card option alongside DEFT, embedded in the software you already use, with no change to how the rest of your payments run.

Already past 1 October? You can still sign up with ZenPay and switch card payments back on for your customers.

Payments that flow

A card option your customers already know.

ZenPay is a payments platform built for your industry, and it can be embedded in the software you already use.

When DEFT stops accepting card payments on 1 October 2026, ZenPay keeps that option open for you and your customers.

Adding ZenPay for card payments gives your customers the choice they are used to, without you changing anything else about how you collect payments.

Quick answers

Questions, answered.

What is changing with DEFT on 1 October 2026?

DEFT is removing credit and debit card payments from its platform. Bank transfer, PayID, BPAY and direct debit continue as they do today.

Does adding ZenPay mean moving away from DEFT?

No. ZenPay adds card payments alongside your existing DEFT setup. Everything else, including your banking relationship, stays the same.

When do I need this in place by?

Before 1 October 2026, so there is no gap where your customers cannot pay by card. If you are past that date, do not worry: you can still sign up with ZenPay.

Will my customers need to do anything?

Very little. Customers who want to pay by card get a new payment link or portal for that purpose. Everyone else keeps paying through DEFT, the same as they do today.
